Prayer Life

Prayer Life

Following the example of Jesus, who frequently withdrew alone to pray to his Father, we are convinced of the need for daily periods of personal prayer in silence and solitude to listen to the Father as he discloses his will. Under the influence of the Holy Spirit, our prayer becomes a source of deep energy, both for our personal perfection and for our apostolic life.
– Each of us carefully arranges our time and work so as to leave periods of time dedicated to daily prayer, monthly recollection and an annual community retreat.- Our prayer is enhanced by daily readings and meditation on the Scriptures, the writings of the Saints and of the Fathers of the church.

 – The reading of the writings of our Founder and of other spiritual authors is recommended as inspiration for our spiritual life.
Having confidence in the Lord’s words: “Where two or three are gathered together in my name, I am in their midst”, and following the example of the Apostles, we put community prayer at the heart of our fraternal life and of our apostolate. This is why, as often as possible, we gather for daily celebration of the Eucharist and for recitation of parts of the Liturgy of the Hours.
Each Local Community chooses favorable times for personal and communal prayer. Within each house of the Society, there is a chapel to visit and for the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
Aware of our need for love, mercy and forgiveness, we frequently receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
